What is a puppy mill?
Puppy mills are inhumane animal breeding facilities that breed primarily cat and dogs at high volumes. Most puppy mills keep their animals in poor living conditions. 50-1,000 dogs and cats are legally kept in small wired cages that are covered in feces and urine. Many mills disregard veterinary care for the newborn puppies and breeding mothers. Additionally, with the lack of temperature control, and lack of faculty at these mills, many of the animals live a long suffering life. The animals that are produced from these mills range from purebred to trendy "designer" dogs. However, because of the poor conditions many animals suffer from pain, disease, and even death.
